Artist Statement:
I have always loved photography. I remember as a young boy, scanning the pages of old copies of National Geographic Magazine in my grandparent’s basement. It was so exciting looking at the wonderful photographs. I could imagine being there in the Amazon Jungle floating down a river in a dugout canoe. Now decades later and after 24 years of service in the US Marine Corps, I have lived in or visited more than 60 countries and actually floated down the Amazon River in a dugout canoe. Life should be an adventure and photography has always been a good excuse for an adventure. It is difficult to describe exactly what photography means to me. I guess it’s the uniqueness of every photograph that I love so much. Every photograph is one of a kind, a moment in time captured for eternity with no identical twin. Everyone sees something different in a photograph and there is no right or wrong answer. You get from a photograph what you want to see, what you can imagine, what you can dream.
I hope you enjoy my photographs, and perhaps they will inspire you to seek an adventure in a far off land in a dugout canoe.
